This course, "Low-Temperature Sterilization," is designed to provide comprehensive continuing education (CE) and continuing professional development (CPD) for sterile processing professionals. Throughout the course, participants will engage with a detailed presentation covering critical aspects of low-temperature sterilization, including mechanisms, applications, and validation processes, followed by an assessment quiz to test their understanding.

To successfully complete the course and receive a certificate of completion with CE authentication codes, participants must achieve a score of 70% or higher on the final quiz. This certificate will contribute to the required CE credits needed for recertification with the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) and the Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) programs.

CE Requirements for Recertification:

CBSPD: Professionals must accumulate continuing education credits over a five-year period to maintain certification. Approved educational activities, such as this course, count towards these credits.

CRCST: Technicians need to earn 12 CE credits annually, with each credit representing one hour of education. This ensures that professionals stay current with advancements in sterile processing practices.

By completing this course, participants will not only enhance their knowledge and skills but also fulfill part of their recertification requirements, ensuring they remain competent and up-to-date in their field.
